The publication is a report of our Field Survey of London from a cultural perspective from 2014 to 2015. We have carefully studied the cultural industries and creative industries of London. In this report, we interviewed nine British intellectuals living in London about the appeals and strengths of London in order to clarify the cultural strengths of the city. By knowing them, it gives us tips that can be used by Japan to reinforce our strengths and formulate strategies.

東京は2020年にオリンピックを迎えるにあたり、変革の時を迎えている。ロンドンはオリンピックを契機に、自国のクリエイティブ能力の高さを世界に知らしめることに成功したと言われており、今後東京でも文化芸術、クリエイティブ産業に対する同様の展開が予測される。我々は、文化に対する人々の関心が一過性のもので終わるのでなく、将来を見据えた大きな動きになる必要性があると感じており、この分野において先進都市であるロンドンに注目し、現地調査を行った。9名のクリエイティブ産業の有識者へインタビューを行い、文化芸術・クリエイティブ産業に影響を受け発展したエリアや施設、集積地を調査し、クリエイティブ産業にまつわる各種データを収集した。これらを基に、クリエイティブ産業におけるロンドンの魅力と強みを8つ取り纏め、2020年に向け、日本が取り組むべき6つのアイデアを提案した。
