A rating assessment of the utility value (= appeal) of 108 public spaces in central Tokyo was carried out over one year from the perspective of the users of these spaces. Based on the results, nine public spaces with abundant appeal are introduced, and with regard to those public spaces with numerous hurdles to overcome, suggestions are offered for making them more enjoyable for residents and visitors. This book addresses the questions and expectations of “People Unfamiliar with the Definition of ‘Public Spaces,’” “People Wanting to Know the Locations of Public Spaces in Tokyo,” and “People Wishing for More Nearby Recreation Spaces.”
